SCHOHARIE COUNTY LEADERSHIP APPOINTS TERRY AND PACATTE TO REPRESENT COUNTY INTERESTS ON REGIONAL BOARD OF SOUTHERN TIER 8
SEEC Founding Board Member, Peter Johnson, Appointed to Schoharie County’s Industrial Development Agency Board
COBLESKILL, NY (FEBRUARY 27, 2020) – Gilboa Town Supervisor ALICIA TERRY and SEEC (Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation) Executive Director JULIE PACATTE have been appointed to serve on the Southern Tier 8 Regional Planning Development Board of Directors, where they will represent Schoharie County in the areas of community planning and economic development. They join Shane Nickle, Senior Planner for Schoharie County, who has served on the Southern Tier 8 Board since 2011. The appointments were made at the February 21st Schoharie County Board of Supervisors meeting, where it was also resolved to name SEEC Founding Member and Secretary, PETER JOHNSON to the Board of Schoharie County’s Industrial Development Agency Board (IDA) and Schoharie County Capital Resource Corporation.
Headquartered in Binghamton, NY the Southern Tier 8 serves eight rural counties – Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie, Tioga and Tompkins – representing nearly 580,000 residents in the Central New York region. The regional planning agency offers leadership support and technical assistance in project development, grant writing and program administration, working with each of the county’s planning professionals and economic developers to prioritize federal investment requests across the region.
“You really would be hard pressed to find two more qualified people to represent the interests of Schoharie County in the areas of Community Planning and Economic Development,” said LEO McALLISTER, Chair of the Schoharie County’s Economic Development Committee and Supervisor for the Town of Cobleskill. “Together, Alicia and Julie bring decades of experience to the table and I have full confidence that this formidable team will not only bring awareness to the needs of Schoharie County, but will be able to tap into resources and programs that will help bring about significant change to Schoharie County,” he added.
JEN GREGORY, Executive Director for Southern Tier 8 Regional Board said, “I am so excited to work with talented leaders in Governance, Planning & Economic Development for Schoharie County and the Local Development District. Thanks to the County Board of Supervisors for appointing a great team!”
The Board of Supervisors also appointed SEEC Founding Member and Secretary, Peter Johnson, to the Board of Schoharie County’s Industrial Development Agency Board (IDA) and Schoharie County Capital Resource Corporation.
“The appointments of Julie to the Board of Southern Tier 8, and of Peter to the County IDA Board, suggest to me that SEEC is on the right track with our mission of economic development in Schoharie County,” said TOM PUTNAM, Chairman of SEEC. “Relationship-building and collaboration is the linchpin to everything we do, and these two Board appointments ensure that we will have a seat at the table for crucial conversations and that we will be in an even better position to take advantage of opportunities that will benefit the people of Schoharie County,” he added.
