Founder & Principal Consultant of Community Planning & Environmental Associates

Nan is the founder and principal consultant of Community Planning & Environmental Associates, specializing in rural community and environmental planning in the Hudson Valley and upstate New York. With over a decade of experience in wildlife and natural resources, she provides comprehensive land use and environmental planning services tailored to small and rural communities.

Nan is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and received the Certified Environmental Planner Advanced Certification in 2011. She has developed award-winning strategic plans, and is an expert in State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), frequently speaking on panel discussions and training sessions.

In addition to being a former SEEC advisor, she also was the principal author of multi-award-winning SEQR Workbooks for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and pioneered the concepts that inspired the IDA Community Benefit Fund and Community Benefit Agreements to align industrial development with community goals. Furthermore, Nan and her husband own and manage a farm in Schoharie County which gives her a deep understanding of rural community needs and challenges.
