Regional Connections

SEEC relies on strong regional connections and alliances to support ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable economic development in Schoharie County. Our mission is to foster economic growth in the region, laying a foundation for long-term success. Our allies play a crucial role in achieving this mission.

SEEC looks to the Center for Economic Growth and their distinct efforts in Off -Shore Wind development and Mohawk Valley Economic Development District in Climate Smart and Clean Energy Community guidance. New York Southern Tier 8 has been leading broadband conversations and provides access to the Appalachian Regional Commission with an INSPIREing workforce development approach. Now, Southern Tier 8 serves as the Schoharie County link to the federally designated NewEnergyNewYork Tech Hub efforts around battery innovations.

Locally, SEEC is active with a coalition known as Schoharie County Partners for Advancing Resilient Communities (SPARC). Founding members include SUNY Cobleskill Institute for Rural Vitality, Schoharie County Industrial Development Agency, Destination Marketing Corporation and Schoharie County economic, community and ag development.
