Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful (KMVB), a six-county NYS affiliate of the national Keep America Beautiful (KAB) program, is launching the 21st annual Clean & Green Effort.
KMVB is a standing committee of the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc. (MVEDD), and represents Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego and Schoharie Counties. KAB estimates that there are still 2,000 pieces of litter per mile along roadways and waterways in this country – but we can all do something to help.
Please join Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful, Legislators, Dignitaries, and Community Members for a press conference on Wednesday, April 6th at 11am at 287 Main Street, Schoharie in the Village of Schoharie. The conference is to encourage residents and businesses of Schoharie County to get in the spirit of Earth Day, and register for a litter clean up event or beautification project on April 23rd. Please register your group cleanup on the OHSWA.org website, and MVEDD will supply bags and gloves, that will be available at this press conference.
MVEDD and Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation will be on-site to sign up groups or answer any questions for our local annual clean-up day on Saturday, April 23rd from 9am-12pm. This event is sponsored by MVEDD, SEEC and Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce. This is a great opportunity for businesses, corporations, youth groups, and sports teams to give back to their community. Please see the SEEC website for the online form and event details at www.seecny.org.
