Village of Schoharie and Property Owners Announce RFP to Renovate Parrott House

In coordination with the Village of Schoharie and The Parrott House ownership, Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation (SEEC) and Lamont Engineers are soliciting estimated costs from qualified Sub-contractors to provide construction services for the following trades: mechanical/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, flooring, sprinkler

installation, elevator installation, carpentry and exterior finishes.

Characterized as the “heart of the Village” returning The Parrott House to its former glory is important to the Owner and Village both economically and for the character of the community. Redevelopment is intended to be historically sensitive and involves rehabilitation of the building. The Parrott House on Main Street Schoharie is an 1870s-era building that was significantly damaged due to flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011. While the business reopened temporarily post-flood, it subsequently closed permanently for health code violations and has remained vacant. Once a tavern and restaurant, new Owners are seeking to restore the building to a boutique hotel with guest rooms on the second and third floors and a restaurant on the first floor.

The project may be funded, in part, by Empire State Development as a result of the Village securing grants for the important historic district building renovation. As such, the project is subject to state laws and requirements associated with the New York State grant program requirements known as Empire State Development and Restore NY. Minority and Women Business Enterprises are strongly encouraged to participate.

Online summary proposals are due by Friday, July 7, 2023. Three copies of the bid packages/proposal must be received Wednesday, July 12th by 5:00 pm. Packages should be delivered or mailed to:
